Editor’s Note❤️

Okay EastBiBi, first off, let me apologize for the delay in the newsletter. I’m not one to make excuses, so I’ll be honest…

I ain’t have nothing to talk about.

Yes, I was supposed to update y’all on my trip to Manhattan, but it was kinda pointless because my articles got pushed back and I got really sick with some mystery illness.

The good news is, since I waited so late, this newsletter will be a freebie for everyone, and it’s LOADED. I’m feeling A LOT better, so let’s dive into the goodies.

The Beauty Briefing

During my trip to NYC, I attended a convention called NRF. It’s the National Retail Federation, which is a trade association that helps push new policies, conducts research, and sets the agenda for the retail industry.

While I was there, I learned a lot about agentic AI and how it’s finding its place in the beauty retail space. I’m still working on that article.

NRF

I’ve since published a separate article that focuses on new cosmetology school graduates and how most are ill-prepared for the retail environment. It’s a deeply personal article that I’ve been working on for a few weeks, and I’m soooo glad it’s finally live.

Do me a favor and check it all of my latest articles👇🏾

Press & Yap

Man, I’m bout sick of y’all and this obsession with long hair. Y’all are really letting it control your pockets, and it’s a damn shame. Now, why the hell would y’all come at Rihanna like this?!

First of all, she never promised that her products would make your hair grow. She’s never been a poster child for hair growth. She’s a billionaire who’s been pregnant for like 3 years in a row. Pregnancy isn’t kind to everyone, and attacking Fenty Hair and Rihanna is unnecessary.

This is why it’s so important for CONSUMERS to understand how haircare lines work. Rihanna’s line is dedicated to daily styling, and it works very well in that domain. What pisses me off more is how y’all are comparing her to Cardi B, who just announced a haircare line.

Yes, she’s grown her hair out, and it’s beautiful. But again, just because she grew her hair out doesn’t mean her products will grow your hair. Cardi has also been pregnant for the past 3 years, as well, but as I mentioned before, pregnancy isn’t kind to everyone. Clearly, her pregnancies didn’t do her dirty. Along with a care plan, her genetics, and good hormones, she was able to grow her hair.

Salute to her… but don’t let that fool you into thinking you will have the same results. Be wise and don’t hop on the next celebrity haircare trend just because. Make sure you research and find the products and hair care routines that fit YOU.

And stop comparing folks!
