The Beauty Briefing

Traveling for a hair appointment has never been an uncommon experience. Scrolling Instagram and TikTok for the perfect stylist is almost a routine for your average woman. Lately, salon professionals have raised the stakes. We’re no longer catching flights for a fresh set of knotless braids or a simple hair treatment. Oh nooooo! Haircare is now a wellness thing. It has taken on a new focus: scalp care. CN Traveler recently covered the recent boom of “headspas” and “hair and scalp wellness” salons, making the service more accessible in the Western hemisphere.

I’ve even found it beneficial to include a more relaxing head massage during my client’s shampoo service. But this article got me thinking about taking things a bit further.

Scalp health is important, but it’s also equally important for me to provide my clients with the time and space to unwind. Sometimes you can’t always afford to go to the salon and the spa, and the nail salon. Money aside, it’s a lot of time out of your day.

It would be nice to have a few spa-related services included in your hair appointment, right?

Press & Yap

OMG! I am so over long braids. This is coming from me as a braid wearer and a stylist. I didn’t tell anybody, but I strictly avoided doing any braids that were longer than bra strap length.
